Timothy Lamar Sims, 50, left his earthly home to enter the gates of his forever heavenly home on Friday, August 13, 2021.  Tim had been a lifelong resident of Marion County, and was residing in South Pittsburg, where he lived with his wife, Lynn Burks Sims and daughter, Jazzlynn Burks Sims. He was born on April 18, 1971, to his parents, James Clinton Sims, Sr. and Peggy Joyce Mosley Sims.
Tim was employed at Lodge Manufacturing as a machine operator.  He loved his wife, children and his family.  His favorite pastime, was fishing and hunting. He enjoyed all sports and especially the sport of football when he watched his sons play.  He was an avid fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and he spent numerous hours working on automobiles.
He leaves his memories to his wife, Lynn Burks Sims; parents, James Clinton Sims, Sr. and Peggy Joyce Mosley Sims; sons, Benjamen Sims, Christian Sims and Wil Sims; daughters, Summer Akridge, Amber Smith, Madison Sims, Chelsey Dykes and Jazzlynn Burks Sims; brothers, Clinton (Shannon) Sims and Jason (Gretchen) Sims; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will have visitation on Tuesday, August 17, 2021, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. CST and Wednesday, August 18, 2021, from 12 noon to 2 p.m. CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper.
The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home following the visitation on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at 2 p.m. CST with Pastor Dean Sims officiating.
Tim will be laid to rest following the funeral service at Spangler Cemetery in Whitwell.
