Richard Arvil Talley, 75, of South Pittsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, October 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War.
He managed, then owned and operated Tennessee Alabama Fireworks for over 40 years.  He loved hunting, fishing, hanging out with friends and family at the pool, and around the campfire and listening to all his favorite music.  He was an avid fan of TN Vols football and NASCAR.  He loved going to the beach.  Richard was always happy and smiling and had a way of making everyone feel special and was loved by so many.  He loved living in Sweetens Cove.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, C.P. “Dude” Talley and his mother, Eva Louise Degast.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane Talley; sons, Greg (Debbie) Talley, Brent (Kelley) Talley, Jake (Caroline) Talley; daughter, Shannon Talley (Ron); grandchildren, Trisha (Jake) Guthrie, Nathan Hookey (Brooklyn), Addy Talley, Kady Talley, Eldon Talley; great-grandchildren; Hadley and Boomer Guthrie; brothers, Larry (Wanda) Talley and Darrell (Sally) Talley; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 6 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg with Bro. Joe Moore officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 from 4 to 6 p.m. (CST) prior to the Celebration of Life in the chapel.
