Motorcyclist killed on TN Highway 28 in collision with deer

Whitwell, Tenn. – A motorcyclist collided with a deer on a dark stretch of Highway 28 between the county line and Whitwell city limits on the southbound lane late Sunday night. George Kilgore, 54, of Whitwell was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol preliminary report, the collision took place at approximately 9:30 pm near the Highway 28 and Mount Calvary Road intersection. The single-vehicle accident serves as an unfortunate reminder for other operators to keep a keen eye out for deer as the deer population grows.
