JAILYN TYRELL PELLAM


Jailyn Tyrell Pellam, 16, of South Pittsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022. He was born on May 31, 2006, in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Allison (Nikki) Pellam and Stefan Cunningham.

Jailyn accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mt. Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was an all-around fun-loving young man.  He enjoyed riding dirt bikes, four wheelers, and playing video games. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a three-sport athlete. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football.  Early in his baseball days, he played for the Stealth traveling baseball team. He played for the South Pittsburg basketball team. He was the district 6A Boys Tournament MVP and was on the 3A All-Region Team. He was also on the South Pittsburg football team that won the State Championship in 2021.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Glenda Marie Weldon; great-grandfather, Homer Stewart, Jr.; great-grandmother, Joann Phillips; great-grandfather, Eugene Pellam; great-grandfather, James Cunningham; great-grandparents, Lonnie and Louise Robinson and uncle, Wayne Pellam.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Stefan Cunningham, and his  mother, Allison (Nikki) Pellam; great-grandparents, Edna Cunningham, and Jean Pellam, grandparents, Allison (Susie) Pellam, Tyrell Cunningham, Millicent Cunningham; uncles, Tyrone (Christy) Green, Trey Welden; aunt, Patricia Hutchens; great uncles, Larry Pellam, Eddie Pellam; great aunts, Yueletha Cunningham and Kellee (Michael) Cunningham, Tiffany (Chester) Cunningham-Halford, Bridgette Robinson, Brenda Hampton and Glenda Barnes; brothers, and sisters, Kaitlyn Pellam-Holt, Garry Pellam, Illiana Gentry, Tahoe Hutchins, Hayze Willis, Tyson Lovelace, Eli Murray; cousins, JaCobi (Trencia), Kameron, McKenzie, Kaleb (Layla) Cunningham, and Maures Robinson.  Lifetime friends, RaCash Tipton, De’Andre Kelly, Eli Joyner, Javarie Hutchins, Parris Eddison, Naszire Starkey and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. (CST) at the South Pittsburg High School prior to the service.

Services will be held at the South Pittsburg High School Gymnasium on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 3 p.m. (CST) with Pastor Nicholas Pickett and Lamar Jenkins officiating.

Burial will follow at Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.

Pallbearers are Chazz Moats, Kaleb Cunningham, Jayden Mount, JaBraile Ford, Walker Thomas, and Giovani Davis.

Honorary pallbearers are South Pittsburg Football and South Pittsburg Basketball teams.
