Biblically Speaking: It’s “Come As You Are” not “Come As You Are Plus Man’s Criteria”
Galatians 5:15 says, “But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.”
The old saying, “The Christian army is the only army in the world that shoots their own soldiers.” How sad a commentary that is. The Facebook platform has brought this to light over the last decade. This sickness has always been, but has grown dramatically since the invention of all social media. No joke, I’ve seen preachers say to other preachers, if you wear a colored shirt, you are out of God’s will and will not preach in his pulpit (pointing out other preachers who do to only push their agenda). Many have no idea what happens when all is aired on social media for the world to see (saved and lost). In verse 15, apostle Paul deals with false teachers causing trouble within the congregation. Like circumcision in the Old Testament for Jewish men. They were proclaiming that to be saved, you have to be circumcised plus accept Jesus Christ as Savior. This adage was causing a stir within. The view that is seen that Paul alluded to was how the people involved were like two wild animals/beasts fighting. The end would be death and destruction. Even though one might win, they most likely would have wounds of their own. When chaos sets in, no one wins, but all lose. The world says, if they are going to heaven, so am I. The world should be seeing a love of the brethren toward one another, rather than devouring.
I end my article today with a verse found in John 12:1, “The same came therefore to Philip, which was of Bethesda of Galilee, and desired him, saying, Sir, we would see Jesus.”
Oh, if only people would stop being so selfish with their agendas and follow Christ and His Word, the world would see less of us and more of Jesus Christ.
